Partnership Secures Sunflower Venture
DESOTO, Kan. (April 2005) — The Johnson County Commissioner today approved redevelopment of the former Sunflower Army Ammunition plant located on 9,000 acres near here by a partnership including Kessinger/Hunter & Co.
Kessinger/Hunter personnel and affiliates were selected to partner with Denver-based International Risk Group to implement environmental cleanup of the contaminated former ammunition site and to convert it over the next few years into homes, schools, businesses, research facilities, and churches. Nearly 30 percent of the land will be devoted to parks or other public uses. |
